Pombal in Arco de Calheta

Our house is located in Arco da Calheta, in the Pombal (Dovecote) district, in the Impasse do Cesto (Wicker Basket Alley), a quiet residential area surrounded by evergreen banana plantations. In the neighborhood, you will find both local farmers, exquisite holiday homes, and many expats. The people are friendly, open, and peaceful.

Pombal is one of the most sought-after spots on the island of Madeira. If you appreciate breathtaking views, provincial tranquility, safety, and security, then you will love it (on the flip side: the area is less attractive for party lovers and shopping enthusiasts).

We are truly spoiled by the sun. The south-eastern location guarantees the most beautiful sunsets, and the local microclimate provides almost 3,000 hours of sunshine a year. Even in January, there are days with temperatures over 20 degrees Celsius.
